Is Your Business Card in the Top 10?

Image programs begin with business cards. Calling cards have existed since the aristocracy determined that paying for a design and printing showed wealth and affluence. Today, anyone can afford a cheap box of business cards. Black and white, possibly a splash of red tends to be the trend, as does printing cards on cheap paper in home or small business. This prevalence of cheap cards makes outstanding quality and design more important. It has been established, in America, that a professional business card not only states prominent status, it also states you mean to be in business, are serious about staying in business and are capable of holding your own with competition.
Most people take time out every month or several times a year, if not more so, to clear and clean their business desk. Whether at home or at the office one goes through their business cards and figures which will stay and which will go. Of course there are exceptions, but most individuals toss the flimsy bland, black and white cards… and tend to keep cards that speak out to them. Ask yourself if your business card is one of the ten best you have ever seen. Ask yourself which business cards you keep and which you are more likely to dispose of.
Effective business cards generally follow the following guidelines:
• Eye Catching Design
• Easy to read.
• Thick Stock, whether Matte or Gloss Finish
• Noticeable Logo and Phone Number
Ideally, your business cards will end up tacked to walls and bulletin boards. Ideally, others show your business cards off to others or display it for it’s originality. The goal is to have your business cards kept openly by as many people as possible and not tossed or cloistered.
